Toyota is currently recalling approximately 8,000 four-wheel drive Tacoma pickups to fix a potential problem with the front propeller shaft. The issue here is that the vehicle might lose control when a crack occurs in one of the joints causing the driveshaft to separate and fall away from the truck. This condition was discovered during the manufacturing process of the front prop shaft at Dana Corporation, which is actually involved in the recall of first generation Toyota Tundras regarding frame rust issue. And of course, as Toyota usually do, the replacement (which is becoming more frequent nowadays) of the prop shaft would be free from charge.
