Spy Shot: Volkswagen Amarok Single-Cab

spy-shot-vw-amarok

Volkswagen is probably the first to realize that the world of pickup needs a little more single cabs. The two-door Amarok in these spy photos may hit the global market in 2011. It’s expected to have the same 2.0-liter common-rail turbo diesel four-cylinder with 163 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. These are produced at a VW plant in Pacheco, Argentina and are being distributed in South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Wow! Isn’t it a bummer that it won’t be sold in US again? Plus, the fact that the only two continents that these VW single-cabs won’t reach are North America and Antarctica adds to the frustration.
